Akij Motors has introduced three electric mobility products— “Pathik” auto-rickshaw, “Titan” motorcycle and an eco-friendly lithium battery—at a product launch event in Dhaka on May 1, aiming to expand sustainable transport options in Bangladesh. The unveiling was led by Akij Group Director and Akij Motors CEO Sheikh Amin Uddin, with senior executives, dealers, business partners and media representatives attending, the company said in a press release.
Akij Express Executive Director Ruhul Amin and Akij Motors Brand Adviser Abu Sayeed were also present at the event, which highlighted the company’s push into electric vehicles and energy solutions amid rising demand for cleaner transport.
The “Pathik” electric autorickshaw is licensed by Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporations and has been technically tested and certified by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The vehicle is locally manufactured and is already operating in areas under both city corporations, demonstrating operational reliability, the company said.
The “Titan” electric motorcycle has been developed for new-generation users, offering fuel-free mobility, modern design and performance aimed at providing a cost-effective and environmentally friendly riding experience.
Akij Motors also launched its lithium battery, positioned as a high-performance and eco-friendly power solution for electric vehicles. The battery can deliver a range of more than 200 kilometres on a full charge and is designed to last over seven years, offering long-term efficiency and reliability.
The company said it continues to position itself as a pioneer in Bangladesh’s electric vehicle and electric motorcycle segment, focusing on fuel-efficient and sustainable technologies. As a one-stop automobile solutions provider, Akij Motors also works with international brands including JMC and Sinotruk to deliver products and services in the domestic market.
