Bangladeshi film actresses Adhora Khan and Shirin Shila had no opportunity to meet while in Dhaka. Thousands of kilometres away, however, they unexpectedly crossed paths in North America.
The two actresses met by chance a day ago while visiting the Thousand Islands, a tourist destination on the St Lawrence River along the Canada-US border. Shila was accompanied by her mother. The actresses spent a long time chatting and enjoyed the scenic surroundings.
“It was very much a sudden meeting with Adhora at Thousand Islands. My mother was with me. I was extremely happy to see Adhora here. We hardly get to meet in Dhaka, so meeting her here felt wonderful. We spent quite some time together. My mother was also very happy to meet Adhora. I never imagined we would meet here like this,” Shirin Shila said.
Adhora Khan said, “Our meeting felt like proof that the world really is small and that you can meet people you love at any time, anywhere. What made me happiest was meeting Shila’s mother. It was wonderful to see aunty after such a long time. She showed me so much affection. When you meet a dear friend after many years like this, the joy is difficult to put into words.”
Meanwhile, Shirin Shila was recently elected as an executive member of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association. She travelled to Canada with her mother some time ago to visit her brother, who lives there. She is expected to return to Bangladesh in the middle or towards the end of this month.
Adhora Khan has not yet confirmed when she will return to Bangladesh. However, she said she is discussing several upcoming films with a number of directors. She will make an official announcement once everything is finalised.
