Unilever Bangladesh has appointed Abdullah Zobayer as Head of Legal, Bangladesh and Home Care General Counsel, effective 1 August. He has also joined the company’s Management Committee.
Zobayer joined Unilever Bangladesh as Senior Legal Counsel in August 2021. He brings more than 16 years of legal experience across the fast-moving consumer goods and telecommunications sectors, as well as private legal practice, said a press release on Wednesday.
He is a Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
At Unilever, Zobayer has led significant litigation, arbitration and dispute-resolution matters. He has also contributed to regulatory advocacy on extended producer responsibility, product standards and labour law compliance.
He has also served as Acting Company Secretary, supporting corporate governance and statutory responsibilities.
Unilever Bangladesh CEO and Managing Director Ruhul Quddus Khan said Zobayer combined deep legal expertise with a clear understanding of the business.
“Zobayer has played an important role in helping Unilever Bangladesh navigate complex legal and regulatory matters while strengthening governance across the business,” Khan said.
