Prime minister’s political adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that a group is conspiring against both the current government and the BNP.
He made the claim at a press conference at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan on Friday afternoon.
Rizvi said, “A group has always been conspiring against the BNP. That group is still continuing its plots. Leaders and activists at all levels must remain alert and prepared to respond firmly to these conspiracies.”
He urged the opposition to avoid conspiratorial tactics and instead engage in constructive criticism.
At the press conference, it was announced that BNP will pay tribute at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, marking his martyrdom anniversary on Saturday.
Later, the party will join clothing and food distribution programmes at several locations in Dhaka North and South, followed by a similar program in front of the central office in Naya Paltan in the afternoon.
He called on leaders and activists at all levels to pay tribute at Zia’s grave and participate in party programmes.
BNP leaders from various central levels were present at the press conference.
