CSE CFFEX ink MoU to boost derivatives market

Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Financial Futures Exchange Co Ltd (CFFEX) to expand cooperation in developing a sustainable derivatives market in Bangladesh.

The agreement was signed on 21 October during the Annual Assembly of the World Federation of Exchanges in Istanbul, according to a CSE press release on Monday.

The event was held at Haskoy Hall of Rixos Tersane in Turkey where the two exchanges agreed to enhance and promote bilateral partnership in key areas of market expansion.

The cooperation includes development of the derivatives market, exchange of related information, knowledge-sharing and training programmes and business development support in promoting derivatives products.

Chittagong Stock Exchange Managing Director M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar FCA FCMA signed the MoU on behalf of CSE while China Financial Futures Exchange Chief Executive Officer Xiaogang Zhang signed on behalf of CFFEX.
Shan Shuang and Feng Yu of CFFEX were also present at the signing ceremony.

Established in 2006 with approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission, CFFEX is a specialised platform for trading and clearing financial futures, options and related derivatives.

It contributes to financial market reform, efficient risk transfer, market stability and supports innovation within China’s multi-layered capital market.

CFFEX also maintains cooperation with major international associations including the World Federation of Exchanges, the International Organisation of Securities Commissions, the Futures Industry Association and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association to expand global integration of China’s financial futures market.
