Six senior officials of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), including two Joint Commissioners and four Assistant Commissioners, have been reassigned to new positions, in a recent administrative shake-up,
The DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division confirmed the transfers on Tuesday through an official notification signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sazzat Ali.
According to the order, Joint Commissioner (Traffic Administration, Planning and Research) Mohammad Enamul Haque has been transferred to serve as Joint Commissioner (Traffic-South). Meanwhile, the current Joint Commissioner (Traffic-South) Mohammad Kamruzzaman will now take over as Joint Commissioner (ICT).
Among Assistant Commissioners, Mohammad Akkas Ali of the Sabujbagh Zone has been reassigned to the Traffic-Ramna Zone, while CTTC’s (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Assistant Commissioner Tawfiq Ahmed has been moved to Traffic-Sabujbagh Zone.
In further changes, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Hannan Khan has been transferred from Traffic-Ramna Zone to the Patrol-Dhanmondi Zone, and Assistant Commissioner SM Hasibur Rahman Babu, previously serving in the Patrol-Dhanmondi Zone, will now take charge of Traffic-Kotwali Zone.
The DMP, however, did not specify reasons for these transfers.
