A 45-year-old inmate, identified as Suman, died while incarcerated at the Dhaka Central Jail on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, Suman was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 7pm in an unconscious state, where doctors conducted an examination and declared him dead.
Quoting doctors, Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of Dhaka Medical Police Camp, said, “Suman fell ill inside the jail, and the prison authorities immediately brought him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctors examined him and declared him dead.”
The body has been kept in the morgue for post-mortem. Prison sources identified the deceased’s father as Abdur Rashid.
