A mobile court operation in Sadar Bazar, Nagar Kanda, Faridpur, on Wednesday evening, July 30, targeted illegal street encroachments and traffic congestion.
Led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Dabir Uddin, the operation resulted in a fine of Tk 5,000 for a local businessman, Zilu, for illegally storing gas cylinders on the footpath and road.
The operation was conducted under Section 57 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, with the participation of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Amirul Islam of Nagar Kanda Police Station, local BNP and Gono Adhikar Porishad leaders, and other administrative officials.
UNO Dabir Uddin emphasized that the primary goal was to alleviate traffic congestion in the busy Nagar Kanda Bazar area. He mentioned that while one individual was fined, others were issued warnings. He also assured that such operations would be a regular feature to maintain order and minimize public inconvenience in the market.
