Maroof ur Rahman becomes SABINCO MD

Md Maroof ur Rahman Mazumder has been appointed as the Managing Director of Saudi-Bangladesh Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company Ltd (SABINCO).

With over two decades of experience, Maroof is a renowned leader in banking and financial services, specializing in debt capital markets, loan syndications, and advisory services, according to a press release.

He started his career in 2002 at Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited and later moved to Trust Bank Limited, where he led corporate banking and loan syndication.

He joined Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh in 2009 as Head of Capital Markets, playing a pivotal role in raising over $10 billion for Bangladesh’s debt capital market.

His portfolio includes financing major projects for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, Grameenphone, and Robi, among others.

Before joining SABINCO, Mr. Maroof served as Managing Director and CEO of NDB Capital Ltd, a subsidiary of National Development Bank of Sri Lanka.

He holds an MBA from IBA, Dhaka University, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BUET.
