Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume flights on the Dhaka-Dammam route from 7 November, while services on the Dhaka-Riyadh route will remain suspended until further notice.

The national flag carrier had suspended flights on the Riyadh-Dammam route following a series of attacks by Houthi rebels in Saudi Arabia.

The first attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport took place on 10 October. Since then, Biman has operated only one flight on the Riyadh route.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, Shahnur Ahmed, general manager of Biman’s public relations department, said a significant number of passengers travelling to Riyadh are now using alternative routes to reach Saudi Arabia.

As a result, passenger demand on the route remains insufficient, prompting the airline to keep its flights suspended until further notice, he said.

Shahnur also advised passengers to contact their nearest Biman sales centre for ticketing and other travel-related information.
