At least 25 people were injured in repeated clashes between two groups in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria, on Saturday afternoon following a dispute over a comment on a TikTok video.

Several shops in the market were vandalised during the violence, and the situation is currently under police control.

According to police and local sources, a fistfight broke out between two youths on Friday over a TikTok comment. The incident subsequently led to tension and a dispute between two factions of Sohagpur village.

To settle the matter, an arbitration meeting (salish) was held at Jaru Miah’s godown in Ashuganj market on Saturday morning in the presence of local leaders. Although the dispute was resolved during the meeting, both sides re-engaged in clashes using locally made weapons in the afternoon shortly after the police departed. At least 25 people from both sides sustained injuries and received medical treatment at various local clinics.
