‘Mirzapur’ has emerged as one of India’s most enduring streaming hits, appearing nine times on IMDb’s annual list of the country’s most popular web series since its debut in 2018.
According to The Telegraph, the crime drama tops the decade-long tally in IMDb’s new report on India’s streaming landscape.
Released on 27 October, the report, titled ’10 Years of Streaming in India — An IMDb Report 2026′, examines the top 10 Indian series for each year from 2016 to 2026.
It covers 110 chart positions across 64 different titles, with rankings based on page views on IMDb, which attracts more than 250 million visitors worldwide each month.
While ‘Mirzapur’ recorded nine appearances, ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ made the annual charts five times despite having only one season.
The rankings also trace the changing popularity of Indian streaming content. TVF’s ‘Pitchers’ topped the chart in 2016, followed by Prime Video’s ‘Inside Edge’ in 2017. Netflix’s ‘Sacred Games’ led in both 2018 and 2019, before ‘Scam 1992’ claimed the top spot in 2020. TVF’s ‘Aspirants’ followed in 2021, with ‘Criminal Justice’ leading in 2022 and Prime Video’s ‘Farzi’ in 2023.
‘Mirzapur’ topped the chart in 2024, while ‘The Ba*ds of Bollywood’ led in 2025. For 2026, ‘Pritam and Pedro’ emerged as the most popular Indian series up to 15 October.
Crime and thriller shows dominated the decade’s rankings, accounting for 48 of the 110 positions. However, horror, romance, comedy and drama gained ground in later years.
