A preliminary magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck southern Panama on Monday evening, with no immediate reports of casualties or property damage, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake occurred at around 6:20pm local time at a depth of 10 kilometres (6 miles), approximately 18 kilometres (11 miles) west of Río Grande in southern Panama, reports AP.
The latest tremor followed two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.6 in magnitude that struck the region on Friday afternoon, along with a series of aftershocks.
The earlier earthquakes caused buildings near the epicentre to collapse and prompted evacuations across the country.
