CID files case against KNF chief, 8 others over uniform financing

A case was filed against nine people, including the chief of the banned organisation Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), over allegations of financing the production of uniforms for its members.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) disclosed the information in a press release on Thursday. The release was signed by Md Sufi Ullah, special superintendent of police (media) at the CID.

The accused are Nathana Lancheo alias Nathan Bom, chief of the KNF, Monghlasing Marma alias Mong; Niaz Haider; Md Golam Azam; Sahedul Islam; Mohammad Kamruzzaman; Jamalul Islam; Md Touhidul Islam; and Md Matiur Rahman.

The CID said its investigation found evidence of transactions totalling Tk1.62 crore for the production of fabric and stitching of 40,000 sets of four-colour uniforms for the KNF.

In connection with the matter, a case was filed at Bayezid Bostami Police Station last Wednesday under Section 4(2) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012.

According to the release, around 2:30am on 18 May 2025, a special team of Chattogram Metropolitan Police conducted a raid in Mozaffarnagar residential area. During the operation, a person allegedly involved in making clothing for the KNF was detained.
