At halftime of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship opener, Bangladesh leads Sri Lanka 3-0. The goals for Bangladesh were scored by Sapna Rani, Munki, and Sagorika.

The tournament kicked off at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, with host nation Bangladesh facing off against Sri Lanka. Just two minutes into the match, Sapna Rani gave Bangladesh the lead with a goal from a free kick. It didn’t take long for Bangladesh to double the lead, as Munki found the net shortly after, making it 2-0.

The first half was largely one-sided, with Bangladesh launching continuous attacks on the Sri Lankan defense. Sri Lankan goalkeeper Dharmashika pulled off some impressive saves to keep Bangladesh at bay, and the defense also put up a solid effort to prevent the hosts from widening the gap. But how long can Bangladesh really be held back? Eventually, Sagorika scored to make it 3-0, sending Bangladesh into the tunnel with a comfortable lead.
