Vidyut Jammwal is taking his martial-arts expertise to Hollywood with ‘Street Fighter’, but the actor says the biggest lesson from his international debut has come from the discipline behind the camera, writes Hindustan Times.
Speaking at a Paramount Pictures India event in Mumbai, Jammwal compared Hollywood sets with Bollywood and praised the strict schedules and labour rules he experienced while making the film.
He said even major stars such as 50 Cent, Jason Momoa and Cody Rhodes are expected to arrive on time, while technicians receive overtime pay for every extra minute they work.
Jammwal also credited his lifelong Kalaripayattu training for helping him connect with Dhalsim, a character he feels he was destined to play.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, ‘Street Fighter’ stars Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji and Jason Momoa alongside Jammwal. The film will release in India on 16 October in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
