Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud will return home early from his spell with Kent after talks between the county club and the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Hasan will miss the final two weeks of the 2026 County Championship. He will return to Bangladesh ahead of the national team’s busy international schedule.
Bangladesh are set to play series against Afghanistan, West Indies and South Africa during the winter.
Kent’s Director of Cricket Simon Cook said the club were disappointed to lose Hasan at an important stage of the season.
“We’re disappointed to have lost Hasan’s services for the County Championship run-in, but we respect the decision made by the BCB after constructive talks, and wish him well this Winter,” Cook said.
Hasan’s absence will be a big loss for Kent. However, the club will still have two other overseas bowlers available for their final two matches.
“Whilst he will be a big miss, both of our other overseas bowlers, Keith Dudgeon & Khaled Ahmed, remain available for these last two matches of the Summer,” Cook said.
Hasan enjoyed a successful season with Kent. He took 30 wickets in seven appearances across the County Championship and Vitality Blast.
His performances made him an important part of Kent’s bowling attack during his time with the club.
Kent thanked Hasan for his contribution this season. The club also said they would be happy to have the Bangladesh pacer back in the future.
“He will always be welcome back at Kent,” the club said.
