Actor Kartik Aaryan has suffered a knee injury while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming film with director Kabir Khan.
According to DNA, the actor reportedly sustained the injury during the final days of the shoot and is now set to undergo surgery.
According to a report by India Today, Kartik was filming several demanding action sequences when he was injured.
He had undergone extensive training with action coaches ahead of the shoot to prepare for the physically challenging scenes.
A source close to the production told India Today that Kartik has been admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and is under medical supervision.
“Kartik has now been admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and is under medical care. The doctors will perform his knee surgery in a day, after which he will have to rest for a few days. He should then be able to resume his work commitments,” the source said.
Following the procedure, the actor is expected to take a short break to recover before returning to his professional commitments.
The injury comes as Kartik has been maintaining a busy schedule, with several projects lined up following the success of Chandu Champion.
Kartik is expected to resume work after his recovery and continue with his upcoming projects, including director Anurag Basu’s yet-untitled film.
He is also reuniting with Kabir Khan after their collaboration on Chandu Champion. The upcoming project marks another association between the actor-director duo.
Kartik recently won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Chandu Champion.
The actor has also expanded his role in the industry by turning producer.
