Covid: One dies, 27 new cases reported in 24hrs

One people died and 27 more were infected by Covid-19 across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

The deceased was a resident of the Sylhet Division and was undergoing treatment at a government hospital, according to the Directorate general of Health Service (DGHS).

With the new death, the total number of fatalities this year rose to 23 while the total number of deaths stands at 29,523 since 2020.

During this period, a total of 518 samples were tested and the positivity rate stood at 5.21 per cent.

Covid-19 first hit Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, with the first death reported on March 18, 2020.
