Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, Riyadh Air, has opened ticket sales for its first direct flights between Dhaka and Riyadh, ahead of the launch of daily services on 7 August as it targets growing demand from migrant workers, business travellers and passengers connecting onwards to the Middle East and Europe.
The airline said on Thursday that the route between Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The new service gives Bangladeshi travellers another non-stop option to Saudi Arabia while expanding access to destinations across the Middle East and Europe through Riyadh Air’s network and codeshare partners.
The launch comes as air travel between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia continues to grow, driven by one of the world’s largest Bangladeshi expatriate communities, stronger business ties and increasing religious travel.
Flight RX0763 will depart Riyadh at 9:20pm local time and arrive in Dhaka at 6:10am the following day. The return service, RX0764, will leave Dhaka at 7:40am and arrive in Riyadh at 10:55am local time.
Tickets are available through the Riyadh Air app, website and authorised travel agents.
The airline is positioning Riyadh as a regional hub for Bangladeshi travellers, offering onward connections through its own network and codeshare partnerships.
To attract early customers, Riyadh Air is inviting travellers to join its loyalty programme Sfeer. Its benefits include a Best Offer Guarantee, complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi, rewards from the first flight and loyalty points that never expire.
Founding Members will also receive priority access to bookings on future routes and other exclusive benefits.
The Dhaka route will be served by four-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners featuring Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
The aircraft offer fully flat beds in premium cabins, next-generation in-flight entertainment with more than 500 films and 600 television series, Bluetooth audio, AC power and USB charging at every seat, onboard connectivity, Saudi-designed amenities, premium bedding, upgraded dining and wellness-focused services.
Launched in 2023 and wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Riyadh Air aims to serve more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030 as the Kingdom expands its aviation sector and global connectivity.
