The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Thursday cautioned the public against fraudulent Hajj offers promoted by unauthorized agencies, groups, or “kafilas”.
In a letter issued by the ministry’s Hajj-3 branch, officials warned that certain institutions are attempting to lure prospective pilgrims with “attractive Hajj packages” advertised on social media platforms, including Facebook.
The ministry clarified that Hajj activities can only be conducted by government-approved, validly licensed, and listed eligible agencies. No other agents or groups have the authority to facilitate the pilgrimage, and it is impossible to perform Hajj through such unauthorized entities.
“Prospective pilgrims and the general public are specifically requested not to engage in any financial transactions related to Hajj with any travel agent or group that is not on the ministry’s list of eligible agencies,” the letter stated.
The government also noted that the Hajj package and guidelines for 2027 will be announced soon. All concerned parties are urged to wait for the official announcement and strictly follow the government-published guidelines for the upcoming season.
