Asiatic 360 has said reports claiming a court rejected its petition to stay an investigation are incorrect, clarifying that the Appellate Division upheld an earlier stay order and directed the High Court Division to dispose of the pending writ.
The clarification came in a statement issued by the company on Tuesday following media reports that said its petition to stay the investigation had been rejected.
According to the company, the Appellate Division did not reject any petition filed by Asiatic 360, but disposed of the matter while keeping the earlier stay order in force.
The case originated from Writ Petition No. 6812 of 2025 filed by Enayet Ullah before the High Court Division, making allegations against the Anti-Corruption Commission, the National Board of Revenue and the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit.
The High Court Division issued a rule on 28 July 2025. A director of Asiatic 360 later filed Civil Petition for Leave to Appeal No. 3338 of 2025 with the Appellate Division.
The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division stayed the High Court order on 28 August 2025.
On 20 April 2026, the Appellate Division disposed of the petition, directing that the stay order would remain in force and the High Court Division would fully dispose of the writ petition, the company said.
In legal terms, “disposed of” means the matter has been settled, while “discharged” would indicate rejection, it added.
Since its inception in 1966, Asiatic 360 has been operating in Bangladesh’s media sector for more than five decades, providing services in digital advertising, media buying, branding, and content design.
