The OMR sheets of 154 students who took part in the Primary Scholarship Examination in Faridpur Sadar have gone missing from a centre.
Following the incident, two officials of the Sadar Upazila Primary Education Office have been transferred over allegations of negligence.
The incident took place on 18 April during the ‘Bangladesh and World Identity’ examination at Bhati Lakshmipur Government Primary School centre in Faridpur Sadar.
The school is located in the Chunaghat Mor area of Faridpur town. Students from different unions under the Sadar upazila sat for the examination at this centre.
On the final day of the exam, OMR sheets of 154 candidates went missing from the centre.
Confirming the incident, Sadar Upazila Education Officer (acting) Mohammad Mosharraf said “The OMR sheets went missing on the last exam day.”
He said the evaluation of students will not face any problem as the Directorate of Primary Education’s Information Management Division (IMD) has already recovered the loss.
Mohammad Mosharraf further said administrative action has been taken against him and Assistant Education Officer Ajoy Kumar Das. Both have been transferred outside Faridpur district, including to Tangail.
District Primary Education Officer Mohammad Mohiuddin said a general diary (GD) has been filed with the police station over the missing OMR sheets.
He added that the matter has been reported to the Directorate of Primary Education in writing.
An investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken against those found responsible.
