Sharmin Akhter moved up in the latest ODI rankings after her match winning innings. The Bangladesh batter climbed seven places to 22nd and is now the top ranked batter from her team.
She guided Bangladesh to a win over Sri Lanka in Rajshahi on Monday. Chasing 206, the team lost two early wickets. Sharmin then built the innings. She scored 86 runs with 13 fours and won the player of the match award. Bangladesh reached the target with nine balls left.
The International Cricket Council released the weekly rankings update on Tuesday. A few more Bangladesh players also made gains.
Sobhana Mostary scored 41 runs in the same match and played a key role. She hit six fours and moved up eight spots to 50th.
In the ODI bowler rankings, Nahida Akter, Marufa Akter, and Rabeya Khan all improved. Nahida took two wickets for 38 runs and moved up to 13th. She is the top ranked Bangladesh bowler. Rabeya went up one place to 20th. Marufa rose nine spots to joint 43rd.
At the top of the ODI batter rankings, Smriti Mandhana stays number one. Alana King leads the bowler list. In the all rounder rankings, Ashleigh Gardner remains at the top.
