Despite ongoing international unrest and the Iran-Israel conflict, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) is ensuring the continuity of the country’s fuel import and supply system. In line with this effort, two ships carrying octane and furnace oil are set to arrive at Chattogram Port.
According to a press release from BPC on Monday, the vessel MT Central Star, carrying approximately 26,000 metric tons of refined octane from Malaysia, is scheduled to reach the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port on the night of 8 April.
Another vessel, MT Eastern Queens, will arrive at the same anchorage on 8 April with around 25,000 metric tons of furnace oil.
BPC officials highlighted that despite the challenging global situation, import operations are continuing without interruption to meet the country’s energy requirements.
They assured that once the ships arrive, fuel supply will be ensured through swift unloading operations.
Meanwhile, Chattogram Port Authority Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim confirmed that two ships carrying LNG and LPG had already arrived at Chattogram Port on 5 April.
The LPG carrier, Gas Journey from China, anchored at the Cerlie area of the port, with United Shipping as its agency.
The LNG vessel, Cool Voyager, arrived from Nigeria and is anchored at the floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, handled by shipping agent Interport.
