FC Barcelona Femení produced a stunning display to dismantle Real Madrid Femenino and seal a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals with a commanding 12-2 aggregate victory.
In the second leg on Thursday at Camp Nou, Barcelona ran riot with a 6-0 win in front of over 60,000 supporters. Caroline Graham Hansen struck twice, while Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes, Eva Pajor and Esmee Brugts each found the net. Real, beaten 6-2 in the first leg, failed to respond this time.
The result underlined Barcelona’s overwhelming dominance in this fixture, having now won 24 of 25 meetings. They have also beaten Real three times within a week, scoring 15 goals and conceding just twice, including a 3-0 league victory.
Barcelona have now reached the semi-finals for an eighth consecutive season and will face Bayern Munich Women, whom they had earlier defeated 7-1 in the competition.
It was a landmark night for Putellas, who scored in her 500th appearance for the club—her 230th goal—and became the first Spanish player to reach 30 goals in the Women’s Champions League.
The match drew 60,067 spectators, the competition’s highest attendance since 2023. Alessia Russo currently leads the scoring charts with eight goals, ahead of Pajor and Pernille Harder.
