A domestic worker died after falling from the third floor of a multi-storey building in the capital’s Banani area on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Pinky, who worked at a flat on the third floor of house no 87, Road 13, Block D in Banani.
Md Moinuddin, Inspector (Operation) of Banani Police Station, stated that the victim fell from the building in the afternoon and died on the spot. According to police sources, she was found in a critical condition and rushed to a hospital, where attending physicians pronounced her dead.
Police suspect that the victim might have been thrown from the building following an incident inside the residence.
“Police have launched an investigation to uncover the actual cause of the death,” said Inspector Moinuddin.
Efforts are currently underway to identify the individuals involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
