University student’s body recovered in Bashundhara

Police have recovered the body of a 27-year-old university student, identified as Mahmuda Akter Jerin, from a residence in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area.

Vatara Police recovered the body at approximately 12:45am on Wednesday night and subsequently sent it to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.

According to the inquest report prepared by Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Wadut of Vatara Police Station, Jerin was a resident of a rented room in the Bashundhara Residential Area.

She hailed from Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali and was the daughter of Md Khorshed Ali.

The SI further noted that the deceased was a student in the CSE department at American International University. It is initially suspected that she may have committed suicide due to mental depression.
