International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) observed International Mother Language Day with due respect and solemnity.

Various programmes were organised at the university to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Language Movement, reads a press release.

On Saturday morning, marking the occasion, the national flag was hoisted at half-mast by the Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Abdur Rab, Board of Trustees Member Wasil Hasan Chowdhury, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Mahmudur Rahman.

Later, teachers, students, and officials of the university paid heartfelt homage to the language martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar located on the university campus.

Members of the Board of Trustees, the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of different faculties, Chairpersons of colleges and departments, Directors, Coordinators, teachers, officers, staff, students, BNCC members, Student Ambassadors, members of various student societies, and representatives of the Alumni Association also participated in the programme and offered floral tributes.

It is noteworthy that IUBAT observes this historic day every year through various programmes, which play a significant role in inspiring students with patriotism and love for their mother tongue.
