A joint force has arrested three people, including a former leader of Jubo Dal, from Ashulia in Savar and recovered a large cache of locally made weapons along with cocktail-like devices.
Ashulia Police Station Officer in Charge Md Rubel Hawladar confirmed the development on Thursday.
The arrests were made during an operation in the Balibhadra Talpatti area earlier in the day.
Those arrested are former Dhaka district Jubo Dal joint secretary Jahangir Alam Mondol and his two associates, Swapan and Faizul.
According to the joint force, the trio were detained following an operation conducted at dawn on Thursday based on intelligence inputs, after which they were handed over to the Ashulia Police Station.
Officer in Charge Md Rubel Hawladar said the arrestees have been sent to court.
