Independent Brahmanbaria-2 candidate Rumin Farhana on Sunday said no candidate or supporter would be allowed to engage in any foul play at polling centres during the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
Addressing an election rally in Tighar village of Panishwar union under Sarail upazila in the afternoon, she urged voters and supporters to remain alert on polling day.
She said if supporters of any candidate attempted to use force or commit irregularities at polling stations, the public must give a fitting response.
“No one will be allowed to foul,” she said.
Farhana, who is contesting the election with the Duck symbol, called on voters to cast their ballots in her favour to ensure the overall development of Sarail and Ashuganj.
Issuing a warning against intimidation, she said any attempt to harass her campaign workers would be resisted, adding that no one should dare touch them.
She also referred to the recent fate of Chhatra League’s Saddam, saying such incidents should not happen to any political worker in Bangladesh.
The rally was presided over by Mobarak Mia, an elder of Tighar village.
Former Panishwar Union Parishad member Khushid Member and local leaders and activists also spoke at the programme.
