The second phase of the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) is yet to get underway, but the transfer window continues to gather momentum as clubs look to reinforce their squads with foreign signings. After Fortis FC set the tone with a headline-grabbing move, Bangladesh Police FC have responded with what is being seen as one of the standout signings of the window.
Police FC have secured the services of Senegal international forward Mohammad Rasul Bah. The 24-year-old left winger joins from Bhutanese champions Paro FC, where he played a decisive role last season, scoring 14 goals to help his side lift the title. Police FC head coach S M Asifuzzaman confirmed the signing.
Domestic football remains on hold due to the upcoming national elections, with both the BFL and the Federation Cup postponed. Even so, Police FC began their training camp on 17 January, and Rasul is expected to link up with his new teammates within the next two to three days.
Rasul adds valuable international pedigree to the Police FC squad. He made his debut for the Senegal national team in 2021 at the age of 20, featuring against Namibia. To date, he has earned six international caps and scored once for his country.
Following the completion of the first phase of the BFL, Bangladesh Police FC sit fourth in the standings with 14 points from nine matches, registering three wins, five draws and one defeat. Fortis FC are joint leaders on 18 points alongside Bashundhara Kings.
