MG Bangladesh officially launched two new hybrid SUV models on 17 January introducing the MG HS Hybrid+ and the MG HS Super Hybrid in the local market as part of its stated push to expand intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions in Bangladesh.

The launch, held in Dhaka, marks a key step for the brand as it targets growing demand for fuel-efficient vehicles with lower emissions and practical features suited to everyday driving conditions in the country.

The introductory price of the MG HS Hybrid+ starts at Tk49 lakh, while the MG HS Super Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, is priced at Tk59 lakh.

According to MG Bangladesh, the new models reflect a stronger focus on fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and usability for both urban commuting and longer-distance travel.

The MG HS Hybrid+ has been developed for regular daily use, combining efficiency and comfort. It is powered by an intelligent hybrid system that produces 221.3 brake horsepower and automatically switches between electric and petrol modes depending on driving conditions.

The company said the vehicle offers a combined real-world fuel efficiency of up to approximately 23.8 kilometres per litre, making it suitable for city driving as well as highway journeys.

The MG HS Super Hybrid offers extended electric-only driving capability. Equipped with a 24.7 kilowatt-hour battery, the plug-in hybrid model provides more than 120 kilometres of pure electric range, allowing emission-free driving for most daily use.

When electric power is combined with a full fuel tank, the total driving range exceeds 1,000 kilometres. MG Bangladesh is also providing a complimentary 7.4 kilowatt home charging station with each HS Super Hybrid at no additional cost.

Speaking at the launch, MG Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Hussain Mashnoor Chowdhury said the introduction of the new models goes beyond adding vehicles to the lineup.

He said the launch reflects MG’s long-term commitment to shaping the future of sustainable mobility in Bangladesh by offering customers advanced technology, higher efficiency and premium comfort while setting new benchmarks in the hybrid SUV segment.

MG Bangladesh Executive Director Muhammad Mustafizur Rashid Bhuiyan said the company’s legacy of innovation continues with the launch of the new hybrid models.

He said the strong customer response indicates that Bangladesh is ready for next-generation smart mobility and that the new HS lineup is expected to redefine expectations in the C-segment SUV category.

Both the MG HS Hybrid+ and the MG HS Super Hybrid feature a fully digital interior.

The cabin includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting navigation, connectivity and intuitive controls. Built on a 2,720 millimetre wheelbase, the HS lineup offers generous interior space and ride comfort. Ground clearance is set at 176 millimetres, designed to handle varying road conditions across Bangladesh.

The exterior design of the models includes 19-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting and MG’s current global SUV styling language.

MG said practicality and safety were key priorities in developing the new HS lineup. Boot capacity stands at approximately 507 litres and can be expanded to more than 1,484 litres when the rear seats are folded.

Standard safety features include seven airbags, MG Pilot advanced driver assistance systems at Level 2 and a PM2.5 air filtration system. The vehicles are also equipped with a premium multi-speaker sound system intended to enhance the overall driving experience.
