Ferry services on the Paturia– Daulatdia river route resumed early Sunday after remaining suspended for nearly two hours due to dense fog.

The resumption of ferry operations was confirmed at dawn by Abdus Salam, acting deputy general manager of BIWTC Aricha office.

BIWTC suspended ferry movement on the route from around 10pm on Saturday after dense fog reduced visibility and made the navigation marking points on the river unclear.

Ferry services remained closed until about 11:40pm, when the fog began to lift and visibility improved.

Abdus Salam said ferry operations restarted at 11:40pm as the fog density decreased. He added that around 10 ferries, both large and small, were deployed to clear vehicles stranded at the terminals during the suspension.

Normal ferry movement on the busy Paturia–Daulatdia route has since been restored, he added.
