BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has described the recent attack on a newspaper office as a planned attempt to disrupt the upcoming elections.
Speaking to journalists in Gulshan on Friday, he said such acts of sabotage will not hinder the country’s democratic journey.
Criticizing the government, Salahuddin Ahmed said security should have been strengthened in identified vulnerable areas in advance.
He also stated that BNP is coordinating with authorities regarding the return of party acting chairman Tarique Rahman, with government cooperation on security arrangements.
The senior BNP leader added that a grand reception for Tarique Rahman is scheduled to be held on 25 December, covering an area of 300-feet.
