Dhaka university central students’ union (Ducsu) Vice President Shadik Kayem and his delegation went to the Secretariat to meet with the Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury regarding the shooting incident involving Osman Hadi.
They began a protest march from in front of the Ducsu building on Monday, aiming to encircle the office of the Home Affairs Adviser.
The march first faced police obstruction near Doel Chattar as it moved from the campus, which they ignored and proceeded.
They then removed a second police barricade in front of High Court Road and moved forward. Subsequently, the march was halted at a third police barricade in front of the Shikkha Bhaban near the Secretariat.
At that time, VP Shadik Kayem said, “Everyone involved in the attack on Osman Hadi, everyone involved in the planning – they all must be arrested. The leaders of the Awami League must be arrested.
“A deadline will be given to the Home Ministry. If action is not taken within this time, a nationwide protest program will be announced.”
