Delegations from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP) met with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Saturday at his official residence, Jamuna.
Each party was represented by two officials.
The BNP delegation included Standing Committee member Salauddin Ahmed and Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed. Jamaat-e-Islami was represented by Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, while the NCP delegation comprised Convener Nahid Islam and Chief Organiser (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said the meeting began at around 11:40 am.
The meeting comes two days after the announcement of the national election schedule and the referendum on the July Charter. Although no formal agenda was released, BNP insiders indicated the discussions are expected to focus on the return of Tarique Rahman to the country and his security, the recent shooting of Dhaka-8 prospective independent candidate Sharif Osman Hadi, and the overall safety of election candidates.
The talks reflect ongoing political consultations ahead of the upcoming elections and growing concerns about law and order in the country.
