A crude bomb explosion has occurred at the house of Umma Uswatun Rafia, a member of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), in Mymensingh.
The attack occurred early Thursday in Dholadia area of Ward No 1 under Mymensingh City Corporation.
Police said unidentified persons detonated a cocktail at the house’s gate and attempted to set it on fire by spraying a flammable substance similar to petrol. Police visited the scene during the night after receiving information.
Rafia’s brother, Khandaker Zulkarnain Rad, said a complaint has been filed at the police station regarding the attack. He demanded the arrest of those involved.
Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Shibirul Islam said police visited the scene upon receiving the report. A case has been filed under the Explosives Act against unidentified individuals.
