A bus caught fire in Ashulia on Tuesday, though no casualties were reported.
The incident occurred around 4pm near the Sombhar Filling Station on the Nabinagar–Chandra highway, said Mostafizur Rahman, duty officer at the DEPZ Fire Service.
He added that the cause of the fire is still unknown.
The bus had left Palashbari to transport workers from two garment factories in the DEPZ area. As it approached the filling station near the new DEPZ, the driver noticed flames coming from the rear seat. He immediately stopped the vehicle and sought help from police, Mostafizur said.
A Fire Service unit later arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control.
“Details will be confirmed after an investigation,” Rahman added.
