The results of the re-scrutiny (answer script re-evaluation) for this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on 16 November at 10am.
Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider, convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee and Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the information to the media on Thursday.
Haider said the re-evaluation process is nearing completion to ensure students can access their results quickly. “Each answer script has been reviewed with the utmost care, considering the importance of the students’ applications,” he added.
After publication, examinees will be able to check their results on the respective education boards’ websites.
The application process for HSC and equivalent exam re-scrutiny began on 17 October and ended on 23 October.
According to the Dhaka Education Board, applications were accepted online only this year unlike previous years, there was no option to apply via SMS, and no applications were accepted directly at any board office or ministry.
The main results of the 2025 HSC and equivalent examinations were published on 16 October. This year, the overall pass rate across 11 education boards was 58.83%, with 69,097 students achieving GPA-5.
Compared to last year’s 77.78% pass rate, this marks a decrease of 18.44% points, while the number of GPA-5 achievers dropped by 76,814.
Due to the sharp decline in results, around 1.1 million seats in higher education institutions across the country are feared to remain vacant.
The 2025 HSC and equivalent examinations were held from 26 June to 19 August, followed by practical exams from 21 to 31 August. A total of 1,251,111 students appeared under 11 education boards this year.
