Power supply will remain suspended for 9 consecutive hours in several areas of Sylhet on Wednesday.
The Divisional Electricity Development Board Office of Sylhet said due to emergency maintenance, system preservation, and tree-branch trimming along with distribution lines and transformers, power supply will be cut.
The information was announced in a notice signed by the executive engineer of the Sylhet Sales and Distribution Division-2 on Tuesday.
According to the notice, electricity supply will remain cut off from 7am to 4pm in Shibganj Bazar, Shibganj Point, Shibganj Sonarpara, Time Square, and adjacent areas.
The notice also mentioned maintenance work will be carried out on the 11 kV feeder line during this period. For safety reasons, the authorities urged residents not to assume that the power lines are active during the scheduled outage to prevent accidental incidents.
It further stated if the repair work is completed earlier than expected, power supply will be restored immediately.
The Sylhet Sales and Distribution Division-2 authorities expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience and sought public cooperation to ensure improved service delivery.
