Seven more children died with measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8am on Monday, taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 915.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) classified all seven latest fatalities as suspected measles deaths. With the new deaths, the number of suspected measles-related deaths has risen to 816, while confirmed measles deaths remain unchanged at 99.
During the same period, 981 new suspected measles cases were reported, raising the cumulative number of suspected cases across the country to 143,778.
The DGHS also recorded 50 new confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 17,930.
Since 15 March, a total of 125,386 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, according to DGHS data. Of them, 120,913 patients have recovered.
