In a major administrative reshuffle, the government has transferred 39 senior officials, including deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and superintendents of police (SPs) in 12 districts nationwide.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate notifications on Tuesday formalising the reshuffle, which also includes changes involving Metropolitan Commissioners, Range DIGs, and Additional DIGs.
According to the official orders, Robiul Islam, the SP of Panchagarh, has been transferred to the Naval Police. Mizanur Rahman, who served as SP of APBn-2 in Muktagacha, Mymensingh, has been appointed as the new SP of Panchagarh.
Bandarban SP Abdur Rahman has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), while SP in the Special Branch (SB) in Dhaka Wahabul Islam Khondoker has been made SP of Bandarban.
The administration has also posted Meena Mahmuda, the SP of Joypurhat, to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as a Deputy Police Commissioner. Shahnaz Begum, who was an SP under the Dhaka Range DIG, has been appointed as the SP of Joypurhat.
Further changes include the transfer of Anwar Zahid, the SP of Pabna, to the Special Branch (SB). Sufi Ullah, an SP of the Special Branch (SB) in Dhaka, has been posted as the new SP of Pabna.
In Nilphamari, SP Sheikh Zahidul Islam has been moved to the DMP as a Deputy Police Commissioner. Farhad Hossain Khan, an SP of the Industrial Police, has been appointed to take over as the SP of Nilphamari.
Additionally, Mohammad Al Mamun Shikdar, the SP of Narail, has been transferred to the Tourist Police.
