Claiming Zia declared independence violates Constitution: Asif Mahmud

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, the spokesperson for National Citizen Party (NCP) and a former adviser to the interim government, has claimed that the late president and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was not the person who declared independence.

In a post shared on his personal Facebook account on Friday , Asif Mahmud said the “statement that Ziaur Rahman is the declarer of independence is a clear violation of the Constitution.”

The NCP’s media cell subsequently shared the link to the social media status within its group.
