Veteran actors Zahid Hasan and Shahiduzzaman Selim are set to share the screen again after nearly 13 years in director Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raj’s upcoming serial Fire Asar Golpo.
The two actors recently reunited on the set of the serial in Uttara, Dhaka. They previously worked together in several projects, including the ATN Bangla serial Lal Nil Beguni and SA TV’s Sangrila in 2013.
Zahid Hasan directed Lal Nil Beguni, while Shahiduzzaman Selim directed Sangrila. After that, the two actors did not appear together in a television production for more than a decade.
Speaking about the reunion, Raj said Jahid and Selim were his first choices for two important characters in Fire Asar Golpo.
“I enjoy working with experienced artistes. They bring a director’s thoughts and dreams to life beautifully,” Raj said.
He also expressed excitement about bringing Zahid Hasan and Shahiduzzaman Selim together with veteran actress Monira Mithu and younger actors Khairul Basar and Totini in the same frame.
“I believe audiences will be surprised and emotional when they see these artistes together,” he said.
The serial focuses on relationships, although Raj has kept details about the storyline, character conflicts and ending under wraps.
The cast also includes Deepa Khondkar, Sumaiya Shimu, Dr Ejaj, Mukit Zakaria and Faizul Yamin.
Singer and music director Arfin Rumey has composed a song for the serial, which he has performed with singer Dola.
Meanwhile, Shahiduzzaman Selim is set to travel to Kolkata this week to shoot for filmmaker Vicky Zahed’s upcoming film Kholnayok.
He will travel with actor Intekhab Dinar and is expected to spend two days shooting for the film.
Shooting for Fire Asar Golpo is currently underway and is expected to continue until midnight during the ongoing schedule.
