vivo has introduced the Y500 in Bangladesh, positioning the smartphone as a multitasking-focused device with an 8,100mAh battery, OriginOS 6 and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display. The handset is priced at Tk36,999 for the 128GB version and Tk43,999 for the 256GB model.
The device combines a 6-nanometre processor, 120Hz refresh rate and productivity features designed to improve app switching, entertainment and everyday tasks, vivo said in a press release issued in Dhaka on 18 July.
OriginOS 6 offers smoother app transitions, fluid scrolling and multitasking, alongside Private Space, vivo Office Kit, Free Transfer, Screen Mirroring, Task Handoff and Notes Sync.
The Y500 features a 6.83-inch 1.5K Infinity AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, aimed at delivering sharper visuals and smoother motion while streaming videos, browsing social media and navigating apps. vivo’s official Bangladesh specifications confirm the display size, 2800×1260 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Its 8,100mAh BlueVolt battery is designed to support longer periods of communication, entertainment and regular use without frequent charging interruptions. The official specification page also lists 44W charging.
The smartphone is powered by what vivo describes as a 6nm Ultra-Smooth Processor, with an AnTuTu benchmark score of 680,000.
According to vivo laboratory tests, the chipset delivers 30 per cent better overall performance, 28 per cent higher CPU performance and 44 per cent stronger GPU performance than the Snapdragon 685 used in the vivo Y400 and vivo V60 Lite.
The Y500 has also received a 50-Month Long-Term Smoothness Certification, indicating that the device passed vivo’s laboratory testing for sustained performance through hardware and software optimisation. The certification does not guarantee complete freedom from lag, as performance may vary according to usage and network conditions.
As part of its first-sale campaign, customers can choose either a smartwatch or an instalment facility of up to nine months at zero per cent interest. The package also includes an 18-month warranty, Silver Membership and a special data bundle, subject to terms and conditions.
vivo’s official Bangladesh online store lists the Y500 in 6GB RAM configurations with 128GB and 256GB storage, priced at Tk36,999 and Tk43,999 respectively. The handset is available in Midnight Blue and Pearl White.
The company said the combination of its operating system, display, battery and processor was intended to provide a reliable experience across multitasking, entertainment and daily smartphone use.
vivo develops smart devices and intelligent services, supported by research and development centres in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Xi’an. Its research areas include 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial design and imaging systems.
The company said its manufacturing network, including authorised facilities, had an annual production capacity of nearly 200 million smartphones, while its sales network covered more than 60 countries and regions and served more than 400 million users worldwide.
