Visa has launched a Ramadan and Eid campaign encouraging cardholders in Bangladesh to shop “Mon Khule” and win rewards, including an international trip as the grand prize.

The campaign, which runs from 1 February to 31 March 2026, includes a Spend & Win offer under which eligible Visa card transactions will qualify customers for prize draws, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Prizes include an overseas trip, televisions, smartphones, jewellery and gift vouchers, with each transaction increasing the chance of winning.

Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr mark the busiest shopping period of the year in Bangladesh and contribute an estimated Tk1.5 trillion to the national economy annually, according to the statement.

Nearly 70 per cent of Dhaka’s yearly apparel sales take place around Eid, while retail, travel, food, electronics and gifting sectors typically record strong growth during the season.

Spending during Ramadan remains resilient as families prioritise essentials, gifts and shared experiences.

Digital payments continue to gain momentum, with e-commerce activity typically rising by 40 to 50 per cent during Ramadan as consumers increasingly choose secure and convenient payment methods.

Shoppers are moving between physical stores and online platforms, and card payments are playing a growing role in enabling fast and secure transactions for groceries, clothing, electronics and travel bookings.

Visa said the campaign underscores both the spirit of generosity and the increasing role of digital payments in Bangladesh’s festive economy.
