Unilever Bangladesh Limited has been recognised as the most sustainable company of the year at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025 for its contribution to sustainable development and social responsibility
According to a press release, the fast-moving consumer goods giant also won the title of most sustainable FMCG company of the year, along with six additional awards in various categories, making it the company with the highest number of accolades at this year’s event.
The awards were handed over during the Bangladesh Sustainable Summit 2025 organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum.
The company won awards for its projects in several categories.
Under sustainable partnerships and institutions, UBL was recognised for its project Domex and Bhumijo’s fight against poor sanitation. In the sustainable community category, it won for empowering the youth in volunteerism, while in the decent work and economic growth category, it was awarded for waste workers’ livelihood enhancement in Chattogram.
The company also received honourable mentions for responsible sourcing for a greener tomorrow under the responsible consumption and production category, and for sustainability in motion: towards a greener tomorrow under the climate and environment category.
Zinnia Tanzina Huq, chief financial officer and finance director of Unilever Bangladesh, along with other senior officials, received the awards at the ceremony attended by corporate leaders, development partners and sustainability experts.
Unilever Bangladesh said the recognition would inspire the company to continue contributing towards achieving the SDGs and improving lives across the country.
UBL was also recognised at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2024.
UBL said it has aligned its business practices with 13 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations and impacted about 120 million people since 2020.
39.25% owned by the government, Unilever Bangladesh has been operating in the country for over six decades.
