Unico Hospital marked International Women’s Day 2026 on Sunday by launching a specialised cancer screening package for women named “SHE” and organising awareness programmes to highlight women’s health and empowerment.
The hospital in Dhaka arranged a morning rally carrying placards promoting women’s rights and equality, followed by a discussion session attended by invited guests, officials and employees, according to a press release.
Miss Universe Bangladesh 2019 Shirin Akter Shela attended the programme as chief guest, while Fair Election Monitoring Alliance President Munira Khan joined as special guest.
Unico Hospital CEO Ardra Kurien also spoke at the event alongside other members of the hospital’s management.
The newly introduced “SHE” package aims to encourage early cancer screening among women and includes diagnostic tests such as CBC with ESR, CEA, TSH, HbA1c and breast ultrasonography.
The package also offers complimentary consultation services as part of the hospital’s effort to promote preventive healthcare for women.
Hospital officials said the initiative reflects Unico Hospital’s commitment to supporting women’s health and recognising the role of women in society.
