Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD), the exclusive partner of Monash College, Australia, in Bangladesh, organised an orientation for the second batch of Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) students for 2025.
The orientation began with welcome address from Professor Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs of UCBD, Professor Muhammad Ismail Hossain, a Monash alumnus; UCBD’s President and Provost, Professor Hew Gill, then addressed the students and their parents, says a press release.
Professor Gill, highlighting the success of UCBD’s MUFY outcomes, said “UCBD MUFY students achieve remarkable results, surpassing even Monash results in Australia. This is why more students are choosing us for their world-class education”.
Azra Karim, country representative for Monash University in Bangladesh, spoke about the international community students join through the MUFY programme.
“You become part of the Monash community from day one. It’s an excellent opportunity to begin your journey in Bangladesh, with full academic support,” she added.
Ambreen Zaman, MUFY Programme Coordinator at UCBD, provided an overview of the curriculum, explaining Monash’s unique continuous assessment model, which replaces traditional high-stakes exams.
She also highlighted the extensive online resources available to support students’ learning.
Professor Hew and Samia Salam, Parent Engagement Executive, led a session for parents on how they can support their children throughout the programme and discussed the international degree options available after completing MUFY.
